Nicole Lyke

Academic Advisor & Teacher

Nicole knew from an early age that she wanted to be a teacher. Throughout middle and high school, she pursued various opportunities to develop her skills as an educator, including school-based volunteer activities and spending summers coaching gymnastics and teaching dance in her hometown of Poughkeepsie, New York. After earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from the State University of New York at New Paltz, she chose to explore her other passions in the restaurant industry. With seventeen years of experience in all aspects of food and beverage service and management, Nicole has found this background invaluable as she recently completed her sixth year as a middle school teacher in the Henrico County School District, Henrico, Virginia. One of her favorite successes as a teacher is transforming subjects that many might consider “boring” into relevant and engaging lessons for her students. She looks forward to collaborating with student-athletes and their families to continue learning and improving her instruction. Outside the classroom, Nicole enjoys spending time with her husband, RC, their two children, Raegan and Liam, and their two dogs.
