Wolves face Rockets in first NCDC Dineen Cup Playoff Appearance

Tuesday, March 25: WCW 1 - 3 RHC

The West Chester Wolves made their playoff debut but fell 3-1 to the Rockets Hockey Club in Game 1 of their first-ever postseason. The Rockets struck first late in the opening period and doubled their lead in the second. West Chester battled back in the third, as Alec Alfieri scored at 12:26, assisted by Harrison Kinne and Joshua Swan, to cut the deficit to 2-1. However, the Rockets sealed the game with an empty-net goal in the final minute.

Griffin Davis stood tall in net, stopping 47 of 49 shots to keep the Wolves in the fight. West Chester went 0-for-3 on the power play but showed resilience in their historic first playoff game. They look to bounce back in Game 2.

Tuesday, March 25: WCW 3 - 4 RHC

The West Chester Wolves' inaugural NCDC playoff run came to an end in a 4-3 overtime loss to the Rockets Hockey Club in Game 2 of their first-round series.

West Chester struck first with Bryan Weissler scoring just over four minutes into the game. They held the lead until the second period, where the Rockets responded with three goals, including a late power-play marker.

The Wolves battled back in the third, tying the game at 3-3 with a goal from Alec Alfieri at 15:45. Despite outshooting the Rockets 46-42, West Chester couldn't find the winner, and Ozzie Snodgrass buried the series-clinching goal 6:48 into overtime.

Griffin Davis made 42 saves in the loss, while the Wolves’ lone power-play opportunity resulted in a goal. Their penalty kill held strong, stopping five of six Rockets' chances.

A tough end to a strong first season for the Wolves, who now turn their focus to building for next year.
