The West Chester Wolves secured a hard-fought 2-1 overtime victory against the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Knights at Revolution Ice Centre on Friday night.
Bryan Weissler opened the scoring for the Wolves at 9:00 of the first period, assisted by Anton Berg and Emil Szepesi. The Knights responded late in the second period with a goal from Connor Lawrence, tying the game heading into the third.
After a scoreless final frame, the Wolves delivered in overtime as Harrison Kinne netted the game-winner at 3:04, with assists from Andrew Iwinski and Charles Becnel. Goaltender Griffin Davis was solid between the pipes, stopping 32 of 33 shots for the win.
West Chester went 0-for-4 on the power play but managed to shut down all three of Wilkes-Barre Scranton’s opportunities. The Wolves’ discipline played a key role, as the Knights racked up 28 penalty minutes, including a game misconduct in the third period.
Saturday, March 15: WCW 4 - 1 WBS
The West Chester Wolves NCDC squad secured a decisive 4-1 victory over the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Knights at PNY Sports Arena on March 15.
After a scoreless first period, Chase Kerr (11:02, 2nd) opened the scoring for the Wolves, assisted by Reed Richeson and Brayden Sprickman. The Wolves dominated the third period, capitalizing on special teams. Anton Berg (1:45, PP) and Harrison Kinne (11:42, PP) extended the lead before Nico Pasquale sealed the win at 13:43.
Goaltender Griffin Davis stood tall, stopping 27 shots for the win. The Wolves’ power play went 2-for-15, while their penalty kill remained perfect, shutting down all four Knights' opportunities.
