The West Chester Wolves NCDC team has added a major piece to their blue line, securing a tender agreement with 6’5” right-shot defenseman Mikko Rippon for the 2025-26 season.
Rippon, an 18-year-old dual-national from Australia and Finland, brings size, reach, and international experience to the Wolves. The Nottingham, GBR-born defenseman has played at high levels across multiple leagues, including stints with Brisbane Lightning (AIHL), Australia’s national teams, and most recently, Lake Forest Academy U18AAA in the MPHL.
Head Coach R.C. Lyke is thrilled about Rippon’s potential impact. “Mikko is a big, mobile defenseman with a strong defensive presence and an impressive reach. He plays with poise in his own end and has the ability to shut down top opponents. Mikko’s character, work ethic, and compete level embody the Wolves culture and the type of player we want in our program. We believe he’ll be a great fit for our system and an asset to our blue line next season.”
Associate Head Coach Tyler Casillo echoed the enthusiasm, emphasizing Rippon’s development. “Mikko has taken great strides in his game, and we’re excited to help him continue his growth. His combination of size and skill gives him a ton of upside, and we see him playing a key role for us.”
The Wolves continue to build a strong foundation for the future, and Rippon’s addition reinforces their commitment to developing top-end talent.
