Wolves Make First Appearance at NCDC Presidents Day Showcase

Game Recap: West Chester Wolves vs. Thunder Hockey Club (Feb 14, 2025)

The West Chester Wolves secured a 2-0 victory over the Thunder Hockey Club. The Wolves took the lead late in the first period, with Owen Norman setting up Alec Alfieri’s goal at 19:36.

In the second, Maddox Goudie assisted Bryan Weissler on a goal at 14:54, doubling the Wolves' lead. Despite a solid effort from Thunder's goaltender Michael Calabret, who made 39 saves, the Thunder couldn't find the back of the net.

Griffin Davis stood strong for the Wolves, earning the shutout with 33 saves. Both teams struggled on the power play, with the Wolves going 0-for-2 and Thunder 0-for-1.

A well-rounded win for the Wolves as they dominated defensively and capitalized on their opportunities.

Game Recap: West Chester Wolves vs. Islanders Hockey Club (Feb 15, 2025)

The West Chester Wolves fell to the Islanders Hockey Club 2-1. Both teams were scoreless through the first period. The Islanders broke the deadlock in the second with a goal from Joseph Samango, assisted by Brady Plaza and Braxton Powers at 17:15.

In the third, the Wolves tied it up at 11:27, with Kai Mencel and Charles Becnel teaming up on the assist for Harrison Kinne’s goal. However, the Islanders responded quickly, with Hunter Belisle netting the go-ahead goal at 9:15.

Griffin Davis made 23 saves for the Wolves in a losing effort. Braxton Castagno stood tall in net for the Islanders, finishing with 24 saves. Both teams struggled on the power play, with the Wolves going 0-for-2 and the Islanders 0-for-5.

A hard-fought battle, but the Wolves couldn’t hold off the Islanders’ late push.

Game Recap: West Chester Wolves vs. Northern Cyclones (Feb 16, 2025)

The West Chester Wolves suffered a 5-3 loss to the Northern Cyclones. The Wolves started strong, with goals from Brayden Sprickman (6:53), Drew McCandless (16:45), and Cole Kerr (18:31) to lead 3-1 at the end of the first period.

However, the Cyclones came back in the second, with two goals in quick succession, including a goal at 11:12 from Lukas Saving and another at 13:57 from Michael Markowski. The Cyclones sealed the win with two goals in the third period: a power-play goal from Carson Strapon at 6:24 and a final tally by Ian Duffy at 14:08.

Despite a strong start, the Wolves couldn’t hold off the Cyclones' offensive surge. Nicholas Hubbard made 53 saves for the Wolves in a losing effort, while Logan Abric stopped 49 shots for the Cyclones. Both teams struggled on the power play, with neither side converting their opportunities.

The Wolves’ penalty troubles and the Cyclones' late-game push ultimately led to the Wolves’ defeat.
