Wolves Premier Come Up Short Against Wilkes-Barre Scranton Knights

West Chester, PA – The West Chester Wolves Premier team fell to the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Knights, 5-2, in Friday morning's game at PNY Sports Arena. Despite a late push in the third period, the Wolves couldn’t recover from a tough second frame that saw the Knights score five unanswered goals.

The game began evenly, with both teams held scoreless in the first period. Wolves goaltender Anthony Golden stopped all eight shots he faced, and the Wolves’ defensive unit kept the Knights in check.

The second period, however, belonged to the Knights. They opened the scoring just 58 seconds in, with Shintaro Nakadate converting on the power play. Four more goals followed in quick succession from Artur Ovsepyan, Adam Wizmuller, Péter Tóth, and Joseph LaBarbera, giving the Knights a commanding lead.

The Wolves found their footing in the third period. Nathan Lavallee got the home team on the board at 9:00, assisted by Aidan Urie and Brayden Webster. Gordon Shindelman added a second goal as time expired, with Aaron Shanks and Will McLaughlin picking up assists.

Anthony Golden made 25 saves on 30 shots for the Wolves, while Knights goaltender Gusts Valantis stopped 40 of the Wolves’ 42 shots.

Special teams were a factor, with the Knights converting on one of three power plays. The Wolves had four chances on the man advantage but couldn’t capitalize.
