With the loss, the Wolves were unable to capitalize on their opportunities, finishing 0/5 on the power play, while Mercer went 0/4. The Wolves held strong on defense, but ultimately, the single goal was enough for Mercer to secure the victory.
The game featured intense back-and-forth action, including a series of penalties. The Wolves had four infractions for 8 minutes, while Mercer had five penalties for 10 minutes. Despite the penalty kill units standing strong, the Wolves couldn’t get past Mercer’s goaltender, Matiss Bars, who stopped 28 shots in the shutout win.
