The West Chester Wolves NCDC team is excited to announce the signing of goaltender Giulio "Luca" Torriero for the remainder of the 2024-25 season. Torriero, a 17-year-old Pittsburgh native, joins the Wolves following a standout first half of the season with the Islanders Hockey Club Prep West 18U AAA team.
Torriero brings an impressive resume to the Wolves, highlighted by his consistent excellence in net. Over 24 games this season with Islanders Hockey Club Prep West, he posted a stellar 1.92 goals-against average (GAA) and a .944 save percentage, along with two shutouts. His previous experience with Pittsburgh Penguins Elite further demonstrates his ability to perform at a high level, including a 1.83 GAA and a .932 save percentage during the 2021-22 season at the 14U AAA level.
Standing at 6’0” and 170 pounds, Torriero is known for his quick reflexes, calm demeanor, and ability to make clutch saves in high-pressure situations. His consistent development and proven track record of success make him an exciting addition to the Wolves' roster as they look to solidify their goaltending depth heading into the second half of the season.
Associate Head Coach Tyler Casillo expressed his enthusiasm about the signing, "Luca is a fantastic addition to our team. He’s a goalie who thrives under pressure, and his numbers speak for themselves. We’re confident he’ll make an immediate impact and help us compete at the highest level. We’re excited to welcome him to the Wolves family."
